Use Visuals to Create Sound, Import Fcn Needs Work

A nice app for using sound to create complex atmospheric sounds. The user interface takes some getting used to if you havent used any of the developers apps before. It would be nice to be able to import files into the app via open in or copy and paste within the app from other apps. The web browser wifi file transfer does work well though and you can use it to create a file structure within the app for your creations and source material. Hopefully the developer will have a manual soon. There are already quite a few videos that give you a sense of what you can do. Be prepared to click and slide on the controls in the app to discover what it can do. If youre not comfortable with doing this, it could be a frustrating app for you.

This is wizardry!

My name is Jordan Rudess and I pronounce this app as top notch wizardry. Wow. Just wow. Jordan

experimental

Neat way to manipulate and visualize sound, not quite as capable as pc programs like photosounder and metasynth but fun and an application that just begs for touchscreen. Very impressed, gets my 5 stars.

Old School Soundzzz

Excellent sound quality, unique approach and old school charm. This is a great ap. The only thing that caused me to give it less than 5 stars is the non-standard interface, which appears to be derived from the fact that this is a generic program available in several operating systems as opposed to having been created exclusively for the ios. I have the program on my mac, but the iPad version is better to work with. Look up the details on the historic ANS instrument to get where this ap is coming from. Its very interesting and reveals the aps old school inspiration. The ap is worth every penny, but its not for pop devas or those who want to "produce" yet another rap with the usual boring, formulaic 4/4, synchopated backbeat drum track at 120 bpm. This goes a totally different way.

Needs a Lot More Work

This could be so much more cool and powerful if it had image and audio import n export. As it is it came as a huge disappointment to me, because its coolness and usefulness is lamed down by the file management issues.

Tone wheels on steroids

As a fan of early electro-mechanical-optical-magnetic-tube sound synthesis technology I love the concept of the ANS 1/72 octave spinning sine wave discs and its parallel with Laurence Hammonds tonewheel organs. And now to have this graphical sound shaping at our fingertips on a portable device...what a time we live in! A winner all the way. Cant wait to import jpegs and hear how my photos "sound".

Otherworldly

Its not hard to lose hours making incredible soundscapes with this great developers newest IOS app! Its is amazing and really really deep. Also in my opinion it has a slight likeness to a very expensive software synth in its ability to shade and lightly draw in fading effervescent alien panorama like sounds. Simply stunning. Thank you Mr. Z!

Fantastic

If you know and like Metasynth and Sunvox you will love this!

Excellent App

I have been impressed with this developers previous projects, but this one in my opinion trumps them all. I appreciate the level of intuitiveness that I experience as I sculpt sound, and I do have to say when done right is absolutely unlike anything I have heard before from my iPad. It is a great expressive canvas of sound. You can be as harsh or as subtle as you like, or both. This has quickly become one of my favorite sound apps. For the level of creativity you are given, the admission price is more than worth it. Your ears deserve it.

MetaSynth for iOS

Or maybe thats the other way around. Either way its on its way to Awesome....

Absinthe minded me

I must agree with Mr. Rudess. This is a standout in music synthesis visualization. This can pull you in like a new favorite synth always seems to do.

Here, just take my wallet.

Every time I think Im finally done with purchasing sound apps, Alex Zolotov comes along and releases something new. This one, though, is just ridiculous. This is the Grand Master of sonic alchemy. Its the kind of thing that was burned at the stake during the Middle Ages. Virtual Ans makes Gallileo look like Snookie. It wraps Chuck Norriss roundhouse kick in an acousti-magnetic envelope and vibrates his knee joint to dust with low frequency undulations. This app dunked over Michael Jordan. Mount Everest want to take an expedition to climb Virtual Ans. ... and other dumb hyperbole. This might be the most phenomenally creative and inspiring app on the market right now. Im not joking. Just brilliant.

This is as it is

I like this app. Pleasant. Yes. I like it.

Crazy!

This is the best audio app I have ever seen!

Nevermind!

Thought I had a problem opening V2.1 but I just rebooted my iPads and Virtual ANS now opens! Sorry for the false alarm... didnt think Alexander would let that slip through the cracks.

Awesome

After a bit of messin around this is really cool. Must buy if you are into synths.

Great for ambient and drone sounds

Really a cool idea, and a unique way of creating ambient and drone sounds. The concept seems pretty straight forward, but if you dig into it theres a lot of depth. Plenty of room for generating different types of soundscapes.

Sci Fi Soundtracker

Im having a blast just trying things out! Sound quality is good, and the results are useful to me and may end up in a song. Its fun knowing the history of this Soviet synth engine

Fantastic!

The experimental soundscape app Ive been waiting for. So deep...should keep one busy for a while.

The Concept of Zero APPROVES!!

Very cool
